"What is your opinion on the alliance, my friend?" He said, his voice much clearer this time. I put my right hand on my sword, which was sheathed underneath the table. That's when I came to the realization that the wood sound was my "Dear Friend" V knocking an arrow into his infamous mini-crossbow. Anger swelled within me at this betrayal as I heaved my body upward, while in the process of standing I unsheathed my sword and in one fluid motion disposed of the rotting table. As I had indeed prepared for, V was quite surprised and still sitting, trying desperately now to knock the arrow correctly. He did not get the chance. With my unarmed hand I swiped the crossbow from his hand, and put my weathered blade underneath his chin, forcing his to rise up from the seat. A few humans in the tavern got up from their stools and unsheathed their blades. I would say that this frightened me but the anger controlled me far greater than fear could dream of. As far as I was concerned, V and I were the only ones in the room.
"Well, 'Dear Friend,'" I hissed, "I don't suppose I think much of the alliance."
I could smell his new sweat which wreaked like a human's, the traitorous bastard. With my free hand I slammed the wall with my fist, right beside his head.
"And I don't suppose I think much of those that align with them!" I bellowed.
I knew what was to follow, I could feel it. I could sense the humans circling besides me, their foul, pungent stench nearly overwhelming me, only adding to the bloodlust. I plunged the sword through V's neck, and pulled it out of the wall fast enough to parry the attack of the center footman. There were three, and I was surrounded. As the one on my left lunged forward with his sword, I parried while simultaneously kicking back the footman on my right. For my stupidity, I received a short sword in my stomach by a human foot soldier. All I could hear was my sword clattering to the ground as tears welled up in my eyes. I looked back to all I accomplished in life, everything I've done for my people, and it was to end like this. Dying at the feet of mongrel dogs.
